- On the Edge of Chaos - Leadership in an Age of Disruption
This course focuses on understanding the challenges of leadership, in uncertain times as we are currently going through. In this course, students will examine organizational life cycles, rates of change, the effects of globalism, organizations in transition, strategic planning, strategic/SWOT analysis, generational value systems, formal vs. informal organizational structures and culture – and understand how all the above factors affect the way leadership has to be carried out during times of disruption.
- Budgeting for Non-Budgetary Employees in the Public Sector
The ability of public officials to manage budgets, distribute resources and predict costs is crucial to a community's well-being. This course gives participants a solid grounding in the concepts, terminology and techniques in the art and science of public sector budgeting and financial administration. The participants of this program will use real world examples to analyze various approaches to public budgeting and revenue planning, evaluate and problem solve fiscal activities in governmental units, and gain "hands-on" budget preparation and presentation experience.
