  • Pracademic Project Management for Industry Professionals
This accelerated project management course is designed to provide you an introduction to the essential skills and tools required to be a successful project manager. You will participate in the course in a “Team” environment where you will get a chance to be a Team Project Manager and then rotate that role to another team members. This helps provide a guide to team collaboration and the dynamics of trying to get the right people working on the right thing at the right time. You will be introduced to a Pracademic approach to project management which aligns with the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) and the textbook while enhancing it with the practical alienation of project management experiences. The course contains a 6-week simulation case study that the teams will run interacting with a PMO (Project Management Office) for a high technology energy company. Weekly threaded discussion activities will reinforce a clear understanding of the real world course learning objectives blended with the experiences of the course facilitator and students. Each week will bring new project management challenges and opportunities for increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of a project team.

This course will require the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
