Education is evolving rapidly. Whether participants ultimately seek leadership roles in schools, colleges, universities, government agencies, or other organizations, CSUN's fully online Master of Arts in Educational Administration puts in their hands the knowledge and skills to advance their careers, and to thrive in today's dynamic environment.

Specifically designed to help educators advance their careers

  • Two-year program, 100% online. Students complete weekly assignments on their own time, though the program is not self-paced. Entering students advance through the program as a cohort of 20-35 participants, becoming a tightly knit community of peers.
  • Prepares K-12 educators for a variety of leadership positions, including: principals, superintendents, deans, department heads, program managers, directors, and site administrators.
  • Exceptional support services. The one-on-one support of a designated program manager, from application to graduation, frees busy professionals to focus on their studies.
  • Offered in collaboration with CSUN's Michael D. Eisner College of Education the nation's largest college of education, which educates and credentials more teachers than the entire UC system.

The leader in online education

Not all online programs are alike. CSUN does not entrust its learning community to commercial providers, and, in fact, was one of the first American universities to offer graduate degrees online. This online program is offered in collaboration with CSUN's Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies of the Michael D. Eisner College of Education.

A commitment to excellence, and to results

CSUN's two-year, fully online master's program has been carefully crafted by the same distinguished faculty who teach on campus. Though students complete weekly assignments on their own time, the program is not self-paced. Entering students advance through the program curriculum as a cohort of 20-35 participants, becoming a tightly knit community of peers, sharing experiences and perspectives.

Pursuing a Preliminary Services Credential

Coursework for the Master's Degree and Preliminary Services Credential is identical. However, candidates pursuing both a master's degree and a Preliminary Services Credential must apply separately - and concurrently - to both California State University, and the Credentials office. Download a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential application on the Credential Office web site, or contact the Credential Office directly at (818) 677-2733.
