Beyond excellence in the classroom, faculty are your gateway to the vibrant world of entertainment.

Are you industry-ready?

With over a quarter of a million jobs in Los Angeles, the entertainment industry is one of the largest regional employers. However, the sector is facing a significant skills shortage, with 69% of companies reporting a lack of required competencies, according to a 2021 survey. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects substantial growth for producers, directors, and market research analysts, suggesting a bright future for graduates in these fields. The rapid projected growth for entertainment industry positions will also be impacted by the increasing use of artificial intelligence by media firms.

The EIM program, set to launch in Fall 2024, aims to alleviate this shortage, graduating its first cohort in Summer 2026 – just in time to meet the anticipated deficit of about 40,000 workers by 2025. This timely response to the industry's needs could help mitigate potential disruptions to shooting schedules and budget increases. The program will also prepare you to capitalize on the capabilities of AI and competently and ethically navigate the challenges this technology presents.
