Application Instructions

Please use the steps below to complete your application.

Online Application

Submit online: Online application (Coming in March 2018).

With your online application, the materials listed below are required to be uploaded as part of your application:

  1. A one-page statement of purpose describing and explaining the applicant's interest in the M.S. in Assistive Technology Studies and Human Services (ATHS) program and how enrollment in the program will contribute to the applicant's personal and/or professional growth and success.
  2. Resume.
  3. $55 application fee payment by credit card.

Complete and submit the online application as soon as possible. Doing so will assure that your application is included in the applicant pool and that Admissions is aware of your application and can track additional materials as they arrive. You do not need to submit a separate application through Cal State Apply.

Note that the online application used for the ATHS program is a general application used by all programs in the Tseng College. Some of the questions on the application may not be directly applicable to the ATHS program (e.g., questions about transferrable undergraduate units; questions about family income; questions about having an RN license) but are questions required by the state or federal government. Answering these questions with a “Decline to State” response will not negatively impact your application to this program in any way.

Official Transcripts

Send sealed original or certified copies of all official academic records/transcripts from all academic institutions you have attended in the past, not just from institutions at which you earned a degree. This includes community colleges and institutions where you completed post-baccalaureate work. Do not open transcripts before forwarding them to CSUN. Transcripts must be sealed.

Your official transcripts can be mailed OR your institution can send them electronically to one of the exact addresses below. Using other CSUN addresses will result in your transcripts not being received at the correct location and can delay the application process thus omitting your application from the pool of complete, on-time applications.

  • Mailing Address:
    Tseng College
    ATTN: ATHS program
    California State University, Northridge
    18111 Nordhoff Street
    Northridge, California 91330-8352
  • Electronic Transcript Address:

All items must be received at CSUN by the application deadline date in order to be considered for review.

Please Note: If you attended CSUN you do not need to request CSUN transcripts; we will acquire your CSUN records for your application.

GRE Scores

If applicable*, arrange for your GRE scores to be sent to CSUN electronically:

* All students with a cumulative undergraduate GPA less than 3.00 are required to submit GRE General Exam scores to CSUN. Your cumulative undergraduate GPA refers to the GPA you earned upon graduation from your undergraduate program.

An official copy of your GRE scores must be sent directly to CSUN electronically from ETS. CSUN’s school code for receipt of electronic GRE scores is: 4707. Please also send a photocopy of your scores.

International Students and Students With International Degrees

The following is required of international applicants or applicants that did not earn a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution within the United States, regardless of citizenship.

  • Official Transcripts - Please mail original or certified copies of all official academic records/transcripts from all academic institutions you have attended in the past, not just from institutions at which you earned a degree, both in the original language and accepted official translation into English. No copies of transcripts are accepted. Transcripts must be originals. If translated within the U.S., must be done by a member of the American Translators Association (ATA), a certified court interpreter or translator, or staff of a foreign consulate.
  • Original or certified copy of TOEFL, IELTS or PTE Academic score - Scores can either be electronically transmitted to CSUN's school code (4707) or official copies can be mailed. See the required scores on the Admissions Requirements page.
