Withdrawing from a Course BEFORE the Deadline:
When withdrawing from a course, students must consider both the academic and financial aspects of their enrollment. Any student who does not formally withdraw from a course before the drop deadline will still be responsible for any outstanding payments and academic performance requirements.
Withdrawing from a Course AFTER the Deadline:
When withdrawing from a course after the drop deadline a formal withdrawal process is still required, as well as meeting other CSUN policies to avoid an academic/grade penalty for the course.
Refer to the Summer Calendar for registration dates and deadlines.
Please note:
- The student, not the instructor, is responsible for dropping classes.
- Nonattendance does not constitute a withdrawal.
- Stopping payment on a check for tuition and other fees constitute a request for refund.
For details on Administrative and Student Initiated Withdrawals, see CSUN Academic Policies.
