The M.S. in Healthcare Data Analytics combines healthcare knowledge, data analytics and emerging technologies to prepare professionals to use data to improve patient care, manage costs and increase operational efficiency.

Developed by CSUN faculty in collaboration with healthcare data industry experts, the program combines foundational theory with real-world application and prepares students for opportunities across healthcare analytics, operations and leadership.

The program is made up of three specialized certificates that can be earned independently or combined toward the M.S. in Healthcare Data Analytics.

This flexible structure allows you to build expertise in specific areas of healthcare analytics based on your professional goals while creating a pathway toward completing the full master's degree.

The program includes three stackable certificates:

  • Healthcare Data Management—focuses on managing and modeling complex healthcare data through programming, data management, governance, analysis and visualization.
  • Healthcare Systems and Operations—focuses on the U.S. healthcare system, digital health and emerging technologies, epidemiology, biostatistics, and quality and operational management.
  • Leadership and Strategy in Healthcare Analytics—focuses on connecting data analytics with strategic decision-making through leadership, statistical analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

No. You can earn one or more of the certificates independently based on your professional and educational goals.

If you choose to continue toward the M.S. in Healthcare Data Analytics, credits from the certificates can be applied toward the master's degree.
