The University Library has a collection of 1.36 million volumes and more than 248,000 bound periodical volumes. The library's extensive digital collection includes electronic periodicals, books, encyclopedias and hundreds of reference databases.

To receive library privileges present a photo ID (e.g., campus ID or driver's license).

  1. Any currently enrolled Tseng College student, regardless of program type (see Item 2 below regarding distance learners)*, will receive the following University Library services:

    • CSUN Library book checkout privileges (16 weeks per item)
    • Remote access to online resources from the University Library website with current CSUN user ID and password
    • Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service for any returnable (i.e. books) and non-returnable items (i.e. articles) borrowed on their behalf from other libraries, or self-requested via the CSU+ service in OneSearch
    • All other library services offered to students

     
    *Excludes students enrolled in short-term workshops and seminars

  2. Distance learners will receive the following University Library services:
    • CSUN Library book checkout privileges (16 weeks per item) via mail
      • Procedures:
        • Distance learners fill out an Interlibrary Loan request form for items that the library owns and identify themselves as distance learners by entering “Distance Learner” in the notes field of the form. The book is then mailed to the student and a postage-paid envelope is provided for the student to return the book to CSUN.
        • Distance learners using OneSearch can request items not owned by CSUN by logging in to OneSearch and search for their item, then click one of the Get it! links on the item screen or, if they can't find their item in OneSearch, use the Interlibrary Loan request form and  identify themselves as distance learners by entering “Distance Learner” in the notes field. The request will be processed by ILL staff and when the loan arrives the book is then mailed to the student and a postage-paid envelope is provided for the student to return the book to CSUN.
    • Remote access to online resources from the University Library website with current CSUN user ID and password
    • Interlibrary loan service for any non-returnable items (i.e. articles) borrowed on their behalf from other libraries outside the CSU system
    • All other library services offered to students
