CSUN Student ID Number

This number is used to identify your academic records and your current student status. The CSUN Student ID number allows you to establish a CSUN User ID and password, to enroll online, to view academic records and check your CSUN student account.

Special note: If your CSUN Student ID number only has seven digits, add two zeroes to the front of the number (999-9999 becomes 009999999).

All students who have enrolled in the past for classes offered by the university or through The Tseng College have been issued a nine-digit CSUN Student ID number. New students enrolling for classes offered by the university or The Tseng College will be issued their CSUN Student ID number at the time of registration. Your CSUN ID number stays with you even if you stop attending, transfer or graduate. You can find this number on correspondence with the university, transcripts and enrollment summary documents.

If you are a student admitted to the university and you do not remember your CSUN Student ID number or password, go online to the portal at www.csun.edu and click "Forgot User ID/Password."

If you are a student not admitted to the university and you do not remember your CSUN Student ID number, visit the Tseng College (Extended University Commons, 2nd floor) or call (818) 677-2504 to request an enrollment summary from the last semester attended. Your enrollment summary will be mailed to the address of record that you reported to the Tseng College.
