Constitution Day 2026: Voting Rights, the Supreme Court and the Future of American Democracy

Celebrate Constitution Day with an engaging online panel discussion exploring the history, evolution and future of voting rights in the United States. This annual event commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787, by bringing together experts to examine one of today's most important constitutional issues.

This year's Constitution Day discussion focuses on how recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions have reshaped key protections of the Voting Rights Act and what those changes mean for voters, representation and American democracy. The panel also will examine how these developments could influence the 2026 midterm elections and the future of voting rights in the United States.

Join us Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon PDT.

Panelists include CSUN political science professors Leigh Bradberry, Ph.D., J.D., and Pooya Safarzadeh, Ph.D., J.D. The discussion will be moderated by Sherry Sidick, student success and client relations specialist at the Tseng College.

The online panel discussion and Q&A will be held via Zoom, making it easy to participate from anywhere. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the panelists during the live discussion.

The event is free, but registration is required by Sept. 18, 2026.
