The IEP Program benefits
- Conditional (pre-approved) admission to CSUN programs prior to students meeting the English-language proficiency admission requirements;
- Preparation for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examinations;
- TOEFL waivers, which enable IEP students who have "pre-approved conditional admission" status and have completed the IEP's University Bridge level with a minimum cumulative grade-point-average (GPA) of 3.0 to enter approved degree programs of their choice at CSUN - or a partnering institution - without taking the TOEFL;
- One-on-one tutoring sessions, free of charge; and
- For students in the IEP's Advanced and University Bridge levels - the option of substituting university-credit courses for one or more IEP classes. This feature enables eligible students to begin working on their undergraduate or graduate degrees at CSUN while still enrolled in the IEP.

I love IEP! When I went to my first class, I couldn’t understand, speak or write in English. Within four months I could do all of this. IEP not only helped me academically, but it also helped me prepare for life in the USA.
