The California State University, Northridge Master of Public Administration (MPA) program is launching a graduate certificate in nonprofit Sector Management at the Japanese-American Cultural and Community Center, 244 South San Pedro Street, Los Angeles. This certificate is part of the MPA program; consequently, students may apply nonprofit course credits to complete a Masters in Public Administration degree.

If you want to create positive change in your organization, community, or the world, now is the time to earn this professional degree for practitioners in the nonprofit sector or those who are seeking a career with a nonprofit organization.

  • This 18 units graduate certificate is designed for people with varied objectives and backgrounds who need (a) professional development in order to carry out their current tasks, and (b) the knowledge and expertise to manage organizational change, develop budgets and financial management skills, manage boards and volunteers, and assess community needs and strategic planning.
  • Enrollment in every class is guaranteed.
  • The class schedule is set for the entire program.
  • Classes are presented sequentially in an accelerated mode.
  • You join other students as part of a cohort, and your group progresses through the program as a cohesive and supportive unit.
  • All 18 units can be applied toward the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at California State University, Northridge (CSUN).
  • Classes are tentatively scheduled to begin August 31, 2010 and will end August 23, 2011.
