The following list includes useful academic and campus resources for Winter Term students:
These policies apply to all Winter Term courses and those who register for them. Policies regarding grade appeals and other student right policies also apply. See, the policies regarding academic performance and behavior standards for CSUN students in the Winter Term.
Academic questions, such as the fit of specific courses into degree-program requirements, should be referred to the relevant academic department for the degree in question (at CSUN or at the student's home campus if other than CSUN). Students should seek such counsel before registering for courses. Realizing that the wrong course has been selected after the first week of course meetings will not be considered grounds for withdrawals or refunds.

If you are a CSUN matriculated student, your current student ID number will be the same for Winter Term. If you are not a CSUN matriculated student, you will receive a CSUN student ID number when you register and pay for Winter Term.
Your CSUN student ID number is essential for accessing online services, including checking your CSUN financial status, reviewing your grades and transcripts, etc. Make every effort not to lose or forget your student ID number.
However, if you do lose or forget your student ID number, you can located it on your MyNorthridge Portal account which is accessible on the CSUN home page: www.csun.edu

All students enrolled in Winter Term must purchase a CSUN photo ID (the cost is $5.00) to have access to all relevant CSUN student services available to Winter Term students. See information on how to obtain a CSUN student photo ID.
Email is the official means of communication for CSUN. All notices about your courses, any changes in class meeting times, etc., will be sent to you via your CSUN email account. Therefore, it is important to check your account regularly.
If you are a CSUN matriculated student, your current CSUN email account will be the same for Winter Term. If you are not a CSUN matriculated student, you will be given a CSUN email account upon registration.
If you have another personal email account that you use regularly and wish to have your CSUN email forwarded to that account, see below.
Note: Students who were forwarding their email in the campus system prior to the implementation of the new service will have to set up their forwarding again in the new Google-powered system.
Disability and translation services are available for deaf and hard of hearing Winter Term students: CSUN does not discriminate on the basis of age, color, disability, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or veteran status, as monitored by the Department of Labor (Office of Federal Contract Compliance) and the Department of Education, or in violation of section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the regulations adopted there under. Students requiring classroom accommodations should contact either the Center on Disabilities or the National Center on Deafness (for those who are deaf or hard of hearing) for assistance as soon as you have made your decision to enroll.
Note: Students who are eligible for accommodations and do not make arrangements for needed services prior to the start of the course(s) they are taking in the Winter Term cannot later use the lack of services or a previously undisclosed disability as an excuse for poor academic performance or withdrawal from a course.
Students Needing Classroom Accommodations or Auxiliary Aids should contact either the Disability Resources and Educational Services Department or the National Center on Deafness (NCOD) (for those who are deaf or hard of hearing) for assistance as soon as they make their decision to enroll.
For special services to accommodate a physical, perceptual or learning disability, please contact Disability Resources and Educational Services. Department of Disability Resources and Educational Services provides accommodations and educational support services to students with disabilities enrolled in California State University Northridge courses.
