CSUN's Online MPA Cohort for Executives is a two-year program that has been designed – in consultation with the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) – to meet the advanced professional-development needs of California's senior county managers and elected officials, especially through the inclusion of highly relevant and recent case studies.
Offered in partnership with the CSAC Institute for Excellence in County Government, this program enables employees of any of California's 58 counties who have at least seven years of public-agency experience to develop sophisticated skills in administrative leadership and critical analysis in the public-sector context while continuing their full-time professional careers.The only program of its kind for county executives, this intensive two-year course of study offers
A highly relevant, interdisciplinary curriculum that has been customized to address current issues in county government,
A schedule of online courses, so that students can access instructional content at their convenience,
An eminent faculty composed of both senior-level, public-sector professionals and recognized scholars from several disciplines within the university,
Three, face-to-face, practitioner-based executive workshops at the CSAC Institute in Sacramento (optional),
Exceptional networking opportunities with other county leaders through the cohort format, which means that participants enter the program and proceed through the entire course of study as a group,
Guaranteed enrollment in all classes, and
Comprehensive support services with a designated program manager who provides on-going, personal support for each student from application to graduation.
