Before travelling to the U.S., it is a good idea to become familiar with the course offerings at CSUN. Take time to browse the catalog and the schedule to determine which classes you are interested in. Be sure to make a long list so that you have many options in case some of your class choices are full.
CSUN Course Catalog
The catalog lists all courses offered by each department and provides a description of the course. The catalog will give you an understanding of the course content.
CSUN Schedule of Classes: Class Search
The schedule lists only those courses which are being offered in a particular semester. Not all classes in the catalog are offered every semester. You can choose only those classes listed in the schedule
1. After looking through the CSUN Catalog and the CSUN Schedule of Classes: Class Search, select the courses you wish to take. Make sure to choose many more than you hope to take since some of the classes you have chosen may already be full.
2. A permission number will be required to enroll. At the first class meeting, request a permission number from the instructor, to add the class. Be sure that you select a class that is at an appropriate level for you. Check the prerequisites and make sure that you have the prior skills or knowledge for the course.
