If you already know what RSS is then just plug our feed into your reader:
http://tsengcollege.csun.edu/rss.xml
For those not familiar with RSS, it provides a way to stay in touch with the college without checking our Web site for updates to programs, courses, or other areas of interest. Furthermore, receiving an RSS feed means that you don't have to subscribe to our monthly newsletters to receive the information it contains. An RSS connection to us allows you to get the news but keep your mailbox clear.
RSS stands for really simple syndication. You'll need an RSS reader (usually a separate stand-alone program or an option in your web browser) to play along. Once you have that installed, you plug in addresses, like the one we show above, for each RSS feed you want to receive.
Your RSS reader, then, shows you a list of the material arriving from each RSS feed to which you subscribe. Some RSS feeds update every minute, others weekly, and others only occasionally. Ours falls into the last category, at least for now. Other RSS feeds may include your favorite news channels, blogs, sports sites, whatever.
Use your favorite Web search engine to find an RSS reader for your type of computer, install it, and keep in touch with The Tseng College.
