Academic Credit Registration Schedule, Winter Term / Intersession 2010

Registration is on a first come, first served basis. You may register online or in-person.

Registration is on a first come, first served basis. You may register online or in-person. Online registration and early registration are strongly recommended. Many high demand courses in the Winter Term/Intersession fill quickly.

Please note that due to Winter recess all offices on campus are closed from December 25, 2009 - January 1, 2010. Online registration will remain available. We encourage you to register early and online.

The CSUN Campus will be open for classes throughout the Winter Term. The CSUN planned State Budget Closure days January 4 and January 11 will not impact Winter Term programming.

Appropriate offices in the Tseng College will be open on January 4 and January 11 to handle student registration questions and will be available to field administrative questions and problems.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Students should be aware not all University departmental and administrative offices will be open on January 4 and 11. Students should plan ahead and resolve issues and any questions about Winter Term offerings with departmental offices before those dates.

The Library will be closed on State Budget Closure days. For detailed information go to the web at library.csun.edu

CSUN's Winter Term is a self-support Special Session of the University. This means that students enrolled in Winter Term courses do not have an effect on the recent CSU-CSUN policies to decrease student enrollment in lieu of the recent State budget cuts.

Academic Advisement

  • If you are a CSUN student, consult with a CSUN faculty adviser or evaluator about course applicability before registering.
  • If you are unsure about your qualifications, seek academic advisement through the Advising Resource Center, located in Bayramian Hall, Rm. 210, or with the department that offers the course.
  • If you are a degree-seeking student at another college or university, see your faculty adviser at your home college or university and/or your academic department to make sure you can transfer CSUN courses and credits to your degree program.

Prerequisite Policy

Students are expected to meet course prerequisites before registering, follow published procedures, meet published deadlines and attend class. Course prerequisites are listed in the current University catalog. If you enroll without meeting prerequisites, you may be disenrolled at the instructor's or department chair's request.

Final Examination

Courses meet the same number of hours as during regular semesters, but for only two and a half weeks. There is no separate final examination period. Final examinations, when given, usually are during the last class meeting.

Winter Grades

Grades received in Winter Term become part of a student's academic record and are included in the student's overall grade point average.
