Requirements
Eligibility Requirements
In order to be admitted to the Public Sector Management Degree program, students must meet or be close to meeting both of the following requirements:
- Be General Education certified from a California community college or have met CSUN's lower-division General Education requirements.
- Have passed 60 preferable semester units, transferable to the CSU system, with a GPA of 2.0 or above.
As a prospective transfer student, it is important to make sure that the community college courses you take are acceptable to the university for transfer credit. ASSIST is California's official statewide repository of transfer information for the California State University and University of California university systems, offering easy access to a single articulation database. Using this database will help you determine if you will receive credit for courses you've already taken or plan to take, and how those courses apply to a specific academic major or general education requirement.
To check your GE transfer status, go to ASSIST. Select CSU GE-Breadth Certification List to determine courses that satisfy GE requirements, and CSU Transferable Courses to assess if other courses, although not GE required, are comprised of transferable units.
If you believe you are certified through CSUN's lower-division GE requirements, you may review information in the most recent CSUN Undergraduate and Graduate Catalog under General Information. (Access the catalog online here.)
We understand that this information may be rather complex, so feel free to contact us for assistance.
Graduation Requirements
To earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Sector Management, you must:
- Complete all lower-division coursework described above with a GPA of 2.0 or above;
- Complete the 60 semester units as prescribed in the program with a GPA of 2.0 or above;
- Pass the University's Writing Proficiency Exam, required of all CSU graduates. This exam will be held at or near your cohort site.
Note: All upper-division GE is a part of PSM coursework.
The only remaining task is to apply for graduation, which you will do during the program with assistance from the PSM office.
