The interdisciplinary nature of the program, combined with planned sequencing of courses, provides an opportunity for far more extensive concept- and skill-building than in traditional programs. Built into the program is an on-going focus on the role of a manager, particularly in the public sector, consideration of where students want to be in the future, and how they might best develop the skills needed to achieve those goals. Focus is on the following skill sets:
College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
Department of Political Science
Department of Sociology
Department of Urban Studies and Planning
Mike Curb College of Arts, Media and Communication
Department of Communication Studies
College of Business and Economics
Department of Management
The majority of classes are scheduled to meet once weekly in the evening. Some classes are conducted over the course of two intensive, non-consecutive weekends.
"Twenty years ago, I made a commitment to serve the Public... The knowledge I have acquired in the PSM Program will have a positive impact on the lives of my colleagues and the children we serve."
