How To Register


Registration

Registration dates for Winter Term 2014-2015: TBD.

Online Registration until 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time)

Registration for all Winter Term 2014-2015 classes opens to everyone at the same date. Because Winter Term is self-support, matriculated CSUN students and non-matriculated students have equal access to registration.

  • No application or admissions process required
  • Maximum course load = 4 units
  • Registration is entirely online; not accepted via mail, phone, fax, or in-person

Registration Restrictions

The student may take a maximum of 4 units during Winter Term.

While Winter Term is open to all qualified CSUN and other college or universities students or qualified community members, no one will be able to register if he/she has a hold on CSUN registration or has been disqualified from CSUN for a third time.

CSUN Matriculated Students

Winter Term is open to CSUN matriculated students in good standing. There are no registration appointments; registration opens to all on TBD date.

To access Winter Term registration in SOLAR:

  • Log into the MyNorthridge Portal from the CSUN home page.
  • Click on the "Academics" tab at the top.
  • Inside the first box, titled, "Enroll in Classes," click on "Winter/Summer/Noncredit."

Priority Registration for Veterans

If you are a veteran, reservist or dependent of a veteran with disabilities or deceased veteran and you are eligible to receive educational benefits, please contact the CSUN Veterans Affairs Office for assistance with priority registration and fee payment for Winter Term.

Course Prerequisites and Permission Numbers

For matriculated students, SOLAR determines if the student meets the prerequisite requirements. For students not matriculated at CSUN, a permission number is required to register for courses with specified prerequisites.

To obtain a permission number, email the department chair for the class in which you are interested. In the email, please provide:

  • Your name
  • Course number and course title
  • The college/university you are attending and your level of academic attainment
  • How you have met the prerequisite requirement (for example, you may send an informal copy of your transcript and/or links to descriptions of the relevant course(s) taken at your home institution, or a brief explanation of your readiness)
