Application Instructions for Conditional Admission & Process

STEP 1

Submit an online IEP with Conditional Admission application (English):

Visit the program requirements page for information about all documents REQUIRED to be submitted at the time of the online application.

If unable to attach required documents to the application, then email iep@csun.edu.

STEP 2

IMMEDIATELY, complete and submit a CSUN online application at Cal State Apply to the desired degree program*.
To help with completing the application, use the Cal State Apply Applicant Help Center.

Fees

Cal State Apply charges $55 USD to apply to each program.

Submitting Your Payment

  • When you are ready to submit your application, go to the Submit Application tab and click Pay for My Programs.
  • Do not submit any payments before submitting your application.
  • Payments can only be made in the application via electronic check, credit or debit card.
  • We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
  • Credit card payments cannot be made over the phone.
  • Once you submit your application and payment, click View Payment History for each program on the Check Status page to confirm your payment's receipt.

NOTE: Know Before Applying

  • To browse a complete list of CUSN degree programs, visit the following sites by selecting BACHELOR DEGREES or MASTER DEGREES.
  • Document requirements for graduate and certificate programs may vary. See program information in the above link for details.
  • *NOT all graduate degree and certificate programs are open for conditional admission. Contact iep@csun.edu for an updated list.
  • After a semester's admissions cycle has closed, some majors may still be accepting students. Look for these exceptions in the ADMISSIONS CALENDAR.
STEP 3

If qualified, applicant will receive TWO letters in their acceptance packet:

  1. IEP Admission Letter
  2. CSUN Conditional Admission Letter with "pre-approved" status
STEP 4

Review the visa requirements and related information page for visa requirements, essential documents, steps, and other important information.

STEP 5

Attend orientation and IEP classes. See Upon Arrival to the US.

STEP 6

Upon completing the current IEP session, achieve either the required English-language proficiency score OR receive approval for the TOEFL waiver (see information below), to be admitted into the "pre-approved" CSUN degree program.

How to Apply for Conditional Admission to a Partnering Institution

Upon admission to the CSUN Intensive English Program, students may apply for Conditional Admission to a partnering institution:

Steps to apply to the Intensive English Program (IEP) with conditional admission to partnering institutions:

  1. Apply to IEP
  2. Upon admission, receive an IEP admit letter and I-20
  3. Submit IEP admit letter and apply for conditional admission to partnering institutions listed above
  4. Upon admission, receive a conditional admission letter
  5. Make Visa appointment and take IEP admit letter, I-20 and conditional admission letter to your interview

Housing Application Instructions

STEP 1

You will need your CSUN username and password which will be provided in your Acceptance Package.  Please contact the Tseng College Admissions, Registration and Client Services (ARC) Office at iep@csun.edu if you have any questions or trouble with your CSUN username and password.

Note: The IPP Housing Office communicates primarily by email. Therefore, please be sure to provide your primary email address on your Housing and Meal Plan Application.

STEP 2

The cost of housing will depend on the academic term selected. The cost of IPP housing for each term is indicated in Part 2 of the Housing and Meal Plan Application.

Paying the housing fee via the myNorthridge Portal.

Payments can be made by logging into the myNorthridge Portal using your CSUN username and password. Select Pay Account Balance, select housing charges, and choose between the three options of payment method:

  • Credit Card: Visa or MasterCard only
  • Electronic Check: Use your routing and checking account number. Cashier checks cannot be used.
  • International Wire Transfer: You will be prompted to select your currency and country. Print payment instructions. Complete payment at your local bank or with online banking using the printed instructions. For more information on International Wire Transfer, please see our guide.
STEP 3

Confirmation of your housing space will be sent to you via e-mail after you have submitted the online IPP Housing and Meal Plan Application and payment in full.

The IPP does not endorse any homestay organization or company. Here is a list of homestay organizations that have experience serving IEPCA students.
