Submit online a formal CSUN Online application (CLOSED), including a one-page statement of purpose describing and explaining the applicant's interest in the CSUN M.A. in Humanities program and how enrollment in the program will contribute to the applicant's personal and/or professional growth and success.
In addition, the material(s) listed below will be required as part of your application. You will be given an opportunity to access, complete, and upload the following required document(s) as part of your online application:
Note that the online application used for the HUMA program is a general application used by all programs in the Tseng College. Some of the questions on the application may not be directly applicable to the HUMA program (e.g., questions about transferrable undergraduate units; questions about family income; questions about having an RN license) but are questions required by the state or federal government. Answering these questions with a “Decline to State” response will not negatively impact your application to this program in any way.
Complete and submit the online Application as soon as possible. Doing so will assure that your application is included in the applicant pool and that Admissions is aware of your application and can track additional materials as they arrive.
Both online application parts must be submitted no later than the application deadline date.
Submit a writing sample. Applicants will be asked to attach a writing sample to their online application.
Writing samples may include: a business letter or marketing materials you have drafted to represent your organization; a grant proposal you have written for work, school or as a volunteer; an artistic abstract, a script, a poem or song, or a traditional college or university term paper, essay or research paper.
Submit Original or certified copies (one copy each) of all official academic records/transcripts by mail (or electronic transcripts if the institution offers that option) to the address below. Note that if you attended CSUN you do not need to submit CSUN transcripts.
Transcripts should be sent for any & all institutions you have attended, not just the ones from which you earned a degree.
Send items to the exact address below. Using other CSUN addresses will result in your application not being received at the correct location and can delay the application process thus omitting your application from the pool of complete, on-time applications.
