Parking

Parking on campus requires a valid CSUN permit. Parking permits must be displayed at all times (weekdays and weekends) while parked on campus.

Students must present their registration receipt when purchasing a parking decal.

Parking options:

  • Parking permits may be purchased in person from University Cash Servicers, located in the lobby of Bayramian Hall, or at the Parking Office in the Public Safety Building, located at the corner of Prairie Street and Darby Avenue. Students must present their registration receipt when purchasing the permit. University Cash Services is not accepting credit cards for in-person payment of parking at the counter.

  • Daily permits. One-time parking permits ($5 per visit) may be obtained from Information Booths at Prairie Street and Darby Avenue, or Nordhoff Street and Lindley Avenue. You also may purchase a one-time parking permit from dispensers at the entrance to student lots B1, B3 and B5 on Darby Avenue, B6 on West University Drive near Plummer Street, E6 on East University Drive, G3 at Dearborn and Zelzah Streets, and G4 and G9 at Zelzah Avenue.
See the Campus Map for the location of student parking lots.

  • Meters. A limited number of coin-metered and short-term parking spaces are available on the west side of Darby Avenue between Nordhoff and Vincennes Streets. Coin-metered parking also is available on Lindley Avenue just north of the Information Booth at Lindley Avenue and Nordhoff Street, in lots B4, B5,D1,G4 and G5, and just north of the Information Booth at Prairie Street and Darby Avenue. Parking permits are not valid at meters and may not be substituted for payment. Paper money will not activate the meter.

Disabled Parking: Students must display a CSUN parking permit and the distinguishing license plate or placard issued by the State's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) when the vehicle is parked in a blue space designated for disabled parking. These students also may park in time-restricted green curb zones and in metered spaces when other disabled spaces in the immediate areas are being used. Disabled students should go to a campus Information Booth for directions to parking zones.

NOTE: Student parking permits may not be used to park in faculty lots. Parking areas and rules are subject to change. Please read signs carefully as you enter parking areas. It is suggested that you arrive early for your first class meeting to avoid delay in reaching your classroom.

Parking rules for students and faculty are enforced daily, including Saturdays and Sundays. Students, faculty and visitors must display a permit every day, including weekends.

All rules and regulations concerning parking may be obtained at any Campus Information Booth or the Parking Office Web site or by phone at (818) 677-2157.

Regulations are enforced on campus grounds, as are all the provisions of the California Vehicle Code. Citations will be issued if your parking permit is not visible, if you fail to park in a designated space, if you park overtime at a meter, if you park in a disabled zone or block a disabled access ramp, or if you use a lost, stolen, forged or altered permit.

Campus Escort Service:

The Community Service Assistants (CSA) Division operates the Campus Escort Service from dusk until 11 p.m. in the fall and spring semesters, Monday through Thursday. Community Service Assistants (CSAs) escort students, faculty, staff and visitors. People requesting this service should call (818) 677-5042 (or 5048), or, from any courtesy phone, 5042 or 5048. A CSO will be dispatched to safely escort you to your destination. (To keep your wait time to a minimum, many of the CSOs respond on bicycles.) Our emphasis is to provide a safe alternative to walking alone on campus. This service is free of charge to the CSUN community.

Note: Campus Escort Service is not available during Winter Term.
