IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING WINTER TERM 2010:
1. CSUN's Winter Term is a self-support Special Session of the University. This means that students enrolled in Winter Term courses do not have an effect on the recent CSU-CSUN policies to decrease student enrollment in lieu of the recent State budget cuts.
2. The CSUN Campus will be open for classes throughout the Winter Term 2010. The CSUN planned State Budget Closure days January 4 and January 11 will not impact Winter Term programming. Appropriate offices in the Tseng College will be open on January 4 to handle student registration questions and will be available to field administrative questions and problems, but will be closed January 11.
3. Students should be aware not all University departmental and administrative offices will be open on January 4 and 11. Students should plan ahead and resolve issues and any questions about Winter Term offerings with departmental offices before those dates. The Library will be closed on State Budget Closure days. WINTER TERM / INTERSESSION 2010
Winter Term 2010 is scheduled from January 4, 2010 through January 17, 2010 and offers participants a rich educational experience through a broad range of intensive study opportunities in university credit courses. The course offerings are often innovative and span many disciplines. Classes are small, so participants have the opportunity to interact often with faculty.
Winter Term/Intersession enrollment is open to all CSUN students, prospective students, students from other colleges and universities, and interested individuals from the community. No application or admissions process is required for registration.
CSUN matriculated students earn resident credits. Non matriculated students may apply up to 24 units towards a bachelor’s degree and 9 units towards a master’s degree. Grades received in Winter Term become part of a student’s academic record and are included in the student’s overall grade point average.
Winter Term/Intersession is open to all who successfully completed high school or earned a General Educational Development credential. Students need not be regularly enrolled at CSUN to take academic-credit classes during the Winter Term/Intersession, so long as course prerequisites are met.
Course Fees
- $265 per lecture unit
- $305 per activity unit
- $385 per laboratory unit
Students May Register for Only One Course in the Winter Term
Students may take only one three unit credit course in the Winter Term. Students enrolling in a course requiring a lab may exceed the limit by only one unit (one three unit course with a one unit “lab” is permitted). Students may not exceed the maximum unit load during the Winter Term.

NOTE: Students who are unable to attend class for medical reasons at any time are not exempt from the refund schedule and must make arrangements with the University Student Health Center to officially withdraw. Any refund due will be calculated as of the date the official withdrawal request was filed.

Two Easy Steps for Winter Term/Intersession 2010 Registration
- Select the course/s you wish to take from the Schedule of Classes. Winter Term 2010 schedule of classes will be available in Fall 2009
- Register online at MyNorthridge Portal (see online registration instructions) or in-person at The Tseng College (located in the Matador Bookstore Complex, Room 100).

Please Note: due to Winter recess all offices on campus are closed from December 25, 2009 - January 1, 2010. Online registration will remain available.We encourage you to register early and online.
Drop
Whenever a student drops a class, the refund schedule applies. This is true even if the student's intention is to swap the dropped class for another class.
The following does not constitute an official drop, nor do such actions diminish your financial obligation to CSUN for the Open University Program:
- Stopping payment
- Not attending class
- Merely notifying the instructor

Winter Grades and Final Examination
Grades received in Winter Term become part of a student’s academic record and are included in the student’s overall grade point average.
University Cancelled Classes
University cancelled class will create a credit for the course fee paid, without penalty. Students may apply this credit to another class within the Winter Term/Intersession or request a full refund.
