The Tseng College's Intensive English Program (IEP) has recently become a
registered open-testing center for the Internet-based version of the Test of
English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT). This test, launched by the
Educational Testing Service (ETS) earlier this fall, replaces the former
computer-based version (TOEFL CBT), which is no longer offered in the United
States. The TOEFL exam is used by colleges and universities to measure English
language proficiency for academic studies. IEP will offer its first TOEFL iBT
exam at CSUN on Nov. 4.
Since fall 2004, the IEP has been a registered open-testing center for the ETS
Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) at CSUN. This test,
which is given monthly, measures the everyday English skills of people working
in an international environment. Upcoming TOEIC exam dates at CSUN are Nov. 12
and Dec. 10.
For registration information, please visit the
ETS Web site.
Schedules and registration for Winter Term and Spring Semester courses will be available online starting at 12:01 a.m., Nov. 15. The printed schedules of courses for Winter Term and Spring Semester are expected to be available on campus on Nov. 18 and 21, respectively.
The application period for the first online cohort of CSUN's highly regarded Educational Leadership and Policy Studies master's degree program ends on Nov. 15. The new online program, which starts in January, is designed to enable midcareer adults to earn both an M.A. in educational administration and the California Administrative Services credential while continuing to fulfill current work and family responsibilities. An application form together with program information is available on the ELPS Web site. To learn more, contact Karena Senchack at (818) 677-6405 or elpsonline@csun.edu.
