Begin 2005 with a solid
educational accomplishment! Get closer to achieving your degree or
certificate by enrolling in an academic credit or noncredit course during
Winter Term (Jan. 3-28). This year, both types of course offerings – 78 in
all – will be listed in a single catalog, available on
campus during the third week of November. All
Winter Term course
information is currently available online.Registration information: • Academic credit courses – Online registration begins Nov. 30 and ends at 11:59 p.m., Jan. 1. Mail-in/drop-box registration begins Nov. 30 and ends Dec. 17. (Registration paperwork will be returned if not postmarked by Dec. 17.) In-person registration at the Matador Bookstore Complex, Room 100, begins Monday, Dec. 6, and ends at noon Thursday, Dec. 23. NOTE: Late registration for Winter Term credit courses is available Jan. 3-7 for a $25 fee. • Noncredit courses – All modes of registration are now open. Online registration is available until midnight of the day before the course begins. Registration via mail, telephone or in-person is available up to the day the class begins. |

| The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program is offering four courses – Public Budgeting and Financial Administration, Public Policy Analysis, Public Policy Process (Seminar) and Research Methods for Public Administration – during Winter Term. Classes will be offered in Burbank and Thousand Oaks as well as on campus. Registration for MPA Winter Term begins Nov. 30. Bruce Campbell, instructor in the
Fundraising and Institutional Advancement certificate program, has been
named a member of the “subject matter expert corps” of CFRE International.
The corps comprises a group of fundraising experts who have earned the
CFRE (certified fund raising executive) designation and completed
additional training that prepares them to write test questions for the
CFRE examination and to recommend texts for the CFRE “resource reading
list.” Campbell is a specialist in planned giving and major gifts. His
Planned Giving course starts on January 5. Phoebe Kelsoe, long-time instructor of Criminal Investigative Analysis I , is recovering from injuries received when she tripped over her new Shar-Pei puppy. Kelsoe’s popular course, which focuses on the behavior and personality characteristics of rape and homicide offenders – originally scheduled for Nov. 5-7 – will now meet Jan. 21-23. |

The sixth cohort of CSUN’s online
master’s degree program in

| Coming in Spring: “NEW SAT” Test Prep Workshop | |
|
As a result of modifications made
by the Educational Testing Service to the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT)
for high school students, The Tseng College will begin offering a “NEW
SAT” workshop in the Spring Term. The course will provide practice for the
test’s new writing and expanded college-preparatory math sections. For
information about course content and exam format, call (818) 225-8981.
