Starting this fall, The Tseng College is offering a CSUN bachelor's degree-completion program in business administration with an emphasis in management on the campus of Glendale Community College. This program is designed for working adults, with classes scheduled for evenings and weekends, and is offered in the cohort format (participants enter and proceed through the coursework as a group).

Starting this spring, The Tseng College will be offering CSUN's highly regarded master's degree program in educational leadership and policy studies entirely online. The program is designed to enable midcareer adults to earn both an M.A. in educational administration and the California Tier 1 preliminary credential while continuing to fulfill current work and family responsibilities. Applications are now being accepted for the first cohort, which starts in spring 2006. An application form together with program information is available on the ELPS Web site. Applications received by Wednesday, August 31, will receive first consideration. The last day to submit an application for the spring cohort is Monday, October 31. * The program was launched in 2002. Twenty-five students – the largest class yet – will graduate on May 19. The program can be completed in as little as 18 months, so if you start this fall, you could be graduating in December 2006.
Spring Special Session, which starts on May 31, offers a limited selection of University credit courses – primarily travel-study and fieldwork for selected areas of professional practice – in a short (four-to-six week) format. Through The Tseng College, Spring Special Session offerings are open to anyone who meets the course prerequisites.
In the light of world events, two courses may be of special interest: World Religions and Teaching the Holocaust and Genocide. The latter is designed for middle- and high-school school teachers and combines online instruction with face-to-face class meetings. Scholarships are available for this course. The AHP Journal, the biannual publication of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, recently published an article co-authored by Lois Gomez, an instructor in The Tseng College's series of fundraising and institutional advancement courses. The article details the steps involved in a successful capital campaign to fund construction of a new hospital. Gomez is teaching Annual Giving in summer session. Her course starts June 8.
