| New MPA Cohort Starting in Santa Clarita | |
|
Thirty students have been
accepted into the first Master of Public Administration (MPA) program
cohort to be offered at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita.
Instruction is scheduled to begin on February 2. The MPA program is
designed for working adults – chiefly public sector and nonprofit
employees who desire to increase their administrative and managerial
skills and expand their career options The Tseng College began offering its highly successful MPA program in cohort format (i.e., students proceed through the two-year sequence of courses as a group) in 2004. The first cohort-based MPA offering was launched in Santa Barbara County last summer. Most of the 25 participants are employed by local city and county agencies. A third cohort-based MPA program will start at a location in the City of Industry in 2005. This cohort is being sponsored by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services. The application deadline is Feb. 1. For more information, visit http://tsengcollege.csun.edu/mpa or contact henrik.minassians@csun.edu. |

| Coming in March: Santa Barbara County Wine Tour | |
| On March 26, The Tseng College will be returning to Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley – the latter area suddenly receiving as much attention for its role in the film “Sideways” as for its wines and scenery. This day-long adventure will feature visits to four wineries that we’ve never visited before: Jaffurs Wine Cellars , Fess Parker Winery & Vineyard , LinCourt Vineyards , and Stolpman Vineyards . The tour ($99) includes lunch at a local café in Los Olivos, transportation to the wineries and all tasting fees. Call Barb Frye at (818) 677-6404 or e-mail barb.frye@csun.edu for more information or to register. | |
