Open Registration Now Available for Summer Term 2008

Starting today (April 15), no appointment is necessary to register for all three sessions (May 27-Aug. 19; May 27-July 8; and July 9-Aug. 19) of CSUN’s Summer Term for Visiting Students program. Administered by The Tseng College, this program enables members of the community, including students from other colleges and high schools, to enroll in CSUN summer courses on a space-available basis.


Summer Class Enrollment Available for International Students

The Tseng Colleges Intensive English Program (IEP) offers an “Open University” program for international students who want to take summer courses at CSUN. Registration starts today (April 15). For information, call (818) 677-3923 or e-mail iep@csun.edu.


The Tseng College Congratulates May Graduates

Graduation
Communications Disorders and Sciences – Thirty students, who hail from eight U.S. states and two other countries (Canada and Israel), are expected to graduate from the online Speech-Language Pathology master’s degree program offered by The Tseng College in collaboration with CSUN’s department of Communication Disorders and Sciences in the College of Health and Human Development. The ceremony will be held on the Oviatt Library lawn at 8 a.m. on May 22.

Educational Administration – Twenty-six students – including 21 from California and one each from Canada, Germany, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Singapore – are expected to graduate from the online master’s degree program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) offered by The Tseng College in collaboration with CSUN’s ELPS department in the Michael D. Eisner College of Education. This is the first online distance-learning ELPS cohort to graduate. The ceremony will be held on the Oviatt Library lawn at 6:30 p.m. on May 22.

Engineering Management – Twenty-two students will graduate from the online master’s degree program in Engineering Management next month. This program is offered through The Tseng College in collaboration with CSUN’s department of Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Management in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. The online EM class of 2008 includes students from five major organizations – both public and private – in three states (Arizona, California and Louisiana). The graduation ceremony will be held on the south lawn of Manzanita Hall at 3:30 p.m. on May 21.

Knowledge Management – A cohort of 13 students has gone through the on-campus master’s program in Knowledge Management and is now preparing to graduate. The MKM program, which was launched in 2006, was created by The Tseng College in collaboration with CSUN’s departments of Business Law and Systems Operations Management in the College of Business and Economics, the department of Computer Science in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, and the department of Political Science in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The ceremony will be held on the Oviatt Library lawn at 8 a.m. on May 20.

Public Administration – One hundred and thirty-four students are expected to graduate from CSUN’s Master of Public Administration program, which has been offered through The Tseng College in collaboration with the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences for 32 years. The class of 2008 is the largest MPA class yet. Included are graduates of two off-campus MPA cohorts: one from Glendale with 17 students and the other from Alhambra with 21 students. The MPA graduation ceremony will be held on the Oviatt Library lawn at 8 a.m. on May 21.

Public Sector Management – A cohort of 29 students has gone through CSUN’s bachelor’s degree-completion program in Public Sector Management, which is offered by The Tseng College in collaboration with the department of Management in the College of Business and Economics, the departments of Political Science, Sociology and Urban Planning in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the department of Communication Studies in the College of Arts, Media and Communications. The graduation ceremony will be held on the Oviatt Library lawn at 8 a.m. on May 21.

Now Accepting Applications: Online Engineering Management Program

The next cohort of the online master’s degree program in Engineering Management begins this fall. Though the application deadline is July 31, early applications are encouraged.
