Starting Jan. 4: SAGE Senior Computers

If you are a retired or semi-retired person who wants to learn how to use the computer – or how to get more out of the computer you've been using for just a few things (e.g., e-mail, banking) – The Sage Society, CSUN's learning-in-retirement organization (which celebrated its 20th anniversary this month) can help. Its popular six-week course, Introduction to Computering for Seniors, meets on campus from 10 a.m. to noon on Fridays, from Jan. 4 to Feb. 11. The class is taught and staffed by SAGE volunteers, so the fee is a low $25. For an application form or additional information, call Morrie Cutler at (818) 831-5064. To get an idea of what the class is like, check out the article "Dropping in on Senior Computers" in the Fall 2005 ExL Report (PDF, page 5).

Coming Jan. 11 and 25: Introductory Lean Operations Seminar

If you expect to lead or participate in a lean management initiative in 2008, why not join us for a free introductory half-day seminar to learn more about lean operations and our certificate program? The seminar is offered on two dates – Jan. 11 and Jan. 25 (your choice) – from 8 a.m. to noon. Seating is limited, so advance registration is necessary. To register, e-mail teri.crum@csun.edu or call (818) 677-7131.

Thanksgiving Campus Closure

The campus will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22 and 23, for the Thanksgiving weekend. The instructors and staff of The Tseng College wish you a safe and most enjoyable holiday.
