New! Communication and Conflict Management Credit Certificate

Photo showing faces of people who may need conflict management.The first on-campus, University credit certificate program in Communication and Conflict Management will start in November. This program is offered in the cohort format in which all participants enter and proceed through the course of instruction as a group. Applications will be accepted starting June 1. Coming May 31: ELPS Cohort #3 Early Acceptance Deadline

The distance learning (online) master's degree program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies – which includes the coursework for the California Preliminary Administrative Credential – is now accepting applications for the cohort that begins in January 2008. A maximum of 30 applicants will be accepted. The application deadline for early acceptance is May 31. The final deadline for applications – if the cohort has not been filled earlier – is September 30. Apply online or by contacting Karena Senchack at (818) 677-6405 or elpsonline@csun.edu.


Now Accepting Applications for Engineering Management Cohort #6

Coming Soon: Registration Deadlines for Summer Sessions 1 and 2

"Visiting summer students" have until June 3 to register online for Summer Sessions 1 and 2 through The Tseng College. The deadline for in-person and mail-in registration for these sessions is June 1. Registration deadlines for Session 3 are July 15 for online and July 13 for all other types. View CSUN summer courses and detailed registration instructions online. Printed class schedules are still available at the Tseng College registration counter (Matador Bookstore complex, Rm. 100) or by calling (818) 677-2504.


Now Available: Automatic Course Change Notifications

If you'd like to be automatically notified of cancellations or changes in start dates, meeting times and locations for courses offered by or through The Tseng College – i.e., all upcoming courses listed under the "Courses" tab on the Tseng College Web site – simply enter your email address and/or SMS text-enabled phone number in the box on the page for each course in which you are interested. Course information is refreshed daily, so if you have signed up for change notification and you don't receive any notification of changes prior to the course start date, you can assume that no changes have occurred.


Learn and/or Improve Your Spanish Fast!

This summer, The Tseng College is offering weekend accelerated Spanish classes at both the beginning and intermediate levels. The emphasis is on speaking the language with confidence through enjoyable group interaction and the rapid acquisition of vocabulary and common expressions. Course credits apply toward the CLAD and BCLAD credentials. Don't miss out. The first Beginning Accelerated Spanish I section starts on June 23. A second section starts July 14. Intermediate Accelerated Spanish II starts Aug. 4. Both levels provide 28 hours of instruction in two weekends.


Enrollment Now Open: SAGE Summer Classes

During summer 2007, The SAGE Society, The Tseng College's learning-in-retirement organization, is offering two types of summer programs for retired and semi-retired adults committed to lifelong learning.

Senior Computers is a six-week course that meets on campus from 10 a.m. to noon on Fridays, July 6 to Aug. 10. This class is taught and staffed by volunteers, so the fee is a low $25. For application forms or additional information, call Morrie Cutler at (818) 831-5064. Monday, May 28, is Memorial Day – a national holiday established in recognition of those who have died in the nation's service. The campus will be closed and no classes will be held.
