The online master's degree program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies – which includes the coursework required for the California Preliminary Administrative Credential – is now accepting applications for the cohort* that begins in January 2007. A maximum of 30 applications will be accepted. The application deadline for early acceptance is June 30. The final deadline for applications – if the cohort has not filled earlier – is Sept. 30. * In cohort-based programs, students are admitted as a group and take courses in the same sequence.
The graduations of the first cohorts of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Public Sector Management (PSM) degree programs were celebrated in a joint ceremony in Santa Barbara on May 30, with 20 MPA and 15 PSM students attending.
Another 185 MPA students who have taken classes at the CSUN, Thousand Oaks and former Burbank / Glendale sites also applied for graduation this year. On June 2, approximately 60 of these students participated in ceremonies conducted on campus by the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and The Tseng College.

From June 26 to July 23, those enrolled in the non-cohort MPA program may register for fall classes by appointment at the CSUN Portal by going to "Services for Students" and clicking on "View Enrollment Appointment." Open registration (no appointment) for fall MPA classes begins on July 24.
If you are not enrolled in the MPA program and would like to apply, the application deadline for fall is July 1. Important: Contact Alice Lu at (818) 677-5635 or alice.lu@csun.edu for an interview before applying to the program.
Participants in CSUN's first corporate online cohort celebrated successful completion of the Engineering Management master's degree program at the College of Engineering and Computer Science's annual graduation ceremony on June 1. All but one of the graduates are current employees (the exception is a former employee) of the Navigation Systems Division of Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) in Woodland Hills.
The two-year online master of science program in Engineering Management (EM) was developed in collaboration with CSUN's department of Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Management and is offered jointly by the department and The Tseng College.
The EM Class of 2006 was not only the university's first corporate online cohort but also – with 34 students – the largest online cohort to graduate since its first distance learning cohort graduated in 2002. A second NGC EM cohort begins its second year of instruction in September. Starting this fall, a third NGC EM cohort will include employees at corporate facilities in Azusa, El Segundo, Palmdale, Rancho Bernardo and Salt Lake City as well as Woodland Hills.

If you want to enroll in a CSUN "university credit" course* in Session III of the summer term, which runs from July 17 to Aug. 25, the registration deadline is July 16.
* Students may register in Extended Learning classes up to the day before the class begins.
From June 5 through September 4, the weekday hours of service at CSUN's Oviatt Library will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays; and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays. On the weekends, the library will be open on alternating Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m., starting June 10, and closed on Sundays.
The application deadlines for CSUN's two newest bachelor's degree-completion programs – Business Administration with an Emphasis in Management and Liberal Studies with an Emphasis in General Studies – are fast approaching. Both programs have been designed for working adults and are being offered at Glendale Community College.
