MPA Cohort Withdrawal Policies

How to Withdraw from the MPA Cohort

A student who, for any reason, finds it impossible to complete the program/cohort for which s(he) has registered must inform The Tseng College in writing. This should be done by writing an email or letter to Dr. Henrik Minassians (henrik.minassians@csun.edu) or to Patti Burleson (patti.burleson@csun.edu).

Note: Non-attendance or stopping payment on a check or payment voucher does not constitute an official withdrawal, nor does notification to the instructor. Withdrawals do not necessarily entitle the student to a refund of tuition and fees paid, or the cancellation of tuition still due. Refunds or cancellations of tuition still due will be computed in accordance with the following conditions:

Refunds

If a student has followed all procedures to withdraw from the MPA cohort, s(he) may be eligible for a refund of fees paid, depending upon the date of withdrawal. The withdrawal date shall be determined to be the date on which The Tseng College receives written notification of the student's withdrawal with authorization by Dr. Minassians. The amount that the withdrawing student is eligible to receive will also be affected by any outstanding debts. If a student withdrawing from the cohort is in payment arrears or has any outstanding funds due to the University (including the Bookstore) or The Tseng College, refunds will be neither approved nor processed until all payments are made current.

Once the semester has begun, the student is liable for payment for both classes in the semester. Withdrawal must be before the first day of class at the beginning of the semester in order to be eligible for a refund.

Reinstatement to the MPA Program

If a student has found it necessary to withdraw from a cohort and has consulted with Dr. Minassians, s(he) may be admitted to another cohort at a later date. The reinstated student will be assessed, as prorated costs, the same tuition and nonrefundable fees as apply to all other students in the new cohort.

Note: All cohorts, once begun, will be taught out through to completion. However, there is no guarantee that new cohorts will follow in a specific area or within a specific amount of time.
