What
to Expect After Submitting Your Application
Once you have sent in your completed application, it will
be processed as follows:
-
You will receive an email from the Tseng College of Extended
Learning’s Admission and Technology staff indicating
the successful receipt of your online application.
-
You will receive another email from the (on-campus) University
Admission and Records (A&R) department indicating their
receipt of your online application, as well.
-
A&R will be responsible for:
• reviewing your official transcripts;
• building your CSUN student record;
• forwarding your application to the DL IDAD department
for review;
• officially admitting you to the University;
• setting up access for you to our CSUN Web Portal;
• and emailing you information about how to get
on to the CSUN Web Portal using the provided Student
ID number and password.
- The
DL IDAD department will review your application.
-
You will then receive an email from the DL IDAD department
indicating your admission status to the program.
-
If you are admitted to the program, the email will inform
you that you should expect a hardcopy of a letter with
your admission confirmation and program information
in the mail.
- If
you are denied admission, the email will indicate why
you were not admitted.
- Please
note that applications are processed on a first-come, first-served
basis; once the available openings for the program are taken,
you will be placed on a wait list and informed of your spot
on the wait list.
- Immediately
after you are admitted to the program an email of official
admission will be sent to you from University A&R.
- You
will also be sent a program packet from the department via
email that contains information about:
- how
to get into the virtual online classroom by accessing
our course management system, Blackboard;
- how
to access your courses;
- how
to access the CSUN Web Portal;
- who
to contact for assistance with academic and technical
issues;
- program
and tuition schedule;
- the
required book list;
- tuition
payment options;
- and
Financial Aid information.
- Please
note that EMAIL is the official mode of communication from
the University and the DL IDAD department. You should therefore
keep your email account active and your email contact information
up-to-date on both the Web Portal and with the DL IDAD program
manager.
