year credit certificate curriculum includes these six online
courses:

EPC 606: Seminar in Adult Development (3)
This course covers human development and learning in adult
life. It is designed to prepare professionals to work with
adults in a wide variety of training or instructional settings,
and includes topics in life-span development, job satisfaction
and issues related to career transitions.

613: Assessment and Evaluation of Learning (3)
This course presents targeted assessment methods that can
be used for evaluating outcomes in courses, programs, seminars,
conference sessions, and other adult learning scenarios.
Topics include working models of assessment theory, specific
application in adult learning and training, using assessment
as a learning experience and special techniques for evaluating
technology-mediated education and distance learning programs.

615: Instructional Design (3)
In the culminating experience, you will propose and create
an actual instructional/training product for adult learners
that will bring together the knowledge and skills you have
acquired, and apply them to a practical application of your
choice. Topics include learning objectives and planning,
models of course design, proposals, layout principles, mockups
and presentation techniques. This course will prepare you
for the development of projects such as workshops, handbooks,
interactive educational software and instructional web sites.

656D: Human Factors and Adult Learning Systems (3)
This course examines how to design effective, extraordinarily
usable systems for educating adult learners. The seminar
applies a unique systems approach that integrates learning
objectives, user characteristics, technology attributes
and environmental context to develop rich, adult-centered
instructional systems. It will explore user interface designs
that support learning using both common and newly-developed
technologies. Practical applications will be emphasized
in projects that apply this systems approach--from initial
needs assessment through final evaluation of learning performance.

695D: Issues in Professional Development (3)
In this course you will learn to use effective models to
structure training programs, online courses, in-depth seminars
and other adult learning systems. Topics include course
and training design, course management, applied learning
theory, and current best practices in the education and
training of adults.

695D: Adult Learning and Instruction (3)
In this course you will apply current theory and research
in educational psychology for successful adult instruction,
professional development, and corporate training. Topics
include cognitive development, employee motivation, learning
assessment, learning styles and cultural diversity.
