To be considered for Financial Aid, you must be admitted into the program by California State University at Northridge, Admissions and Records (A&R), AND complete the "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA).

To apply for aid (which includes loans), the first step is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be obtained from the FAFSA Web site. Our Federal School Code is 001153.

You must officially maintain at least half-time enrollment to remain eligible for loan(s) Undergraduate half-time status is 6 units; Graduate Half-time status is 4 units.

Based on information provided on the FAFSA...

Undergraduate students could qualify for the Pell Grant, Subsidized, and/or Unsubsidized Stafford Loan.

Graduate students could qualify for the Subsidized, and/or Unsubsidized Stafford Loan.

The Financial Aid Department receives your information from the federal government electronically. You may be selected to submit additional information. If you are selected, please respond to our request. Submit requested documents to:

Financial Aid & Scholarship Department
California State University, Northridge

Northridge, CA 91330-8307

To obtain documents, visit the CSUN Financial Aid library Web site.

Once all required documentation is in, you will be sent an Award Notice (via your CSUN email account), stating what you're eligible for. You must then submit the Acceptance of Financial Aid form to accept the aid. This form is located on the main CSUN Financial Aid Web site. Click on the Accept Aid / Activate a Stafford Loan link.

Receipt of Financial Aid does not relieve you of the responsibility to pay your fees each term. Enrollment must be posted at Admission and Records before aid is released. Enrollment will be verified prior to any aid disbursement.

If you have questions regarding your payment, and or account balances contact our Client Services Department at (818) 677-2504, or review your account status on the CSUN Portal.

university Cash Services disburses all aid. When funds are received any balance owed is paid, any remaining balance, will be mailed to the address you've provided the university.

Once again, please contact LaJuan Steels if you have any questions, and remember to start this process as soon as possible.
