Custom Programs: Community Contribution

Making a Positive Educational Contribution to Communities
Many corporations want to make a positive educational contribution to the community around them.
Some examples:
  • A corporation may envision sponsoring a program that enhances math and science education, thus encouraging younger students in a particular community or region to plan for careers in technology, engineering, or the sciences.
  • A corporation may want to provide programs that help small business owners in a particular community succeed and, in turn, build a stronger economic and employment base in that community.

Corporations in the region may have a wide range of community interests that would benefit from an educational component. For some corporations, the community they wish to serve might be beyond national boundaries, such as providing training for teachers or health care professionals in a developing nation.

The Tseng College is prepared to work through a contractual arrangement with corporations who share the university’s commitment to education and equity of access by establishing global partnerships that respond both to corporate interests and community needs. Further, The Tseng College also can provide long-term management of the program, expert marketing, evaluation of program effectiveness and regular curriculum updates that allow a corporation to offer sustained educational opportunities to the community.
