Frequently
Asked Questions
Q:
What is a continuing education unit (CEU)?
A:
One CEU (1.0 CEU) is equivalent to 10 contact/clock hours. The
CEU is a nationally recognized standard unit of measurement for
participation in a Continuing Education (CE) activity. The CEU
standards are set by the International Association for Continuing
Education and Training (IACET). Visit their website at http://www.iacet.org
for more information.
Q:
What is the purpose of the CEU?
A: The primary purpose of the CEU is to provide a permanent record
of the educational accomplishments of an individual who has completed
one or more significant non-credit educational experiences. Awarding
the CEU approved by IACET also provides a quality indicator for
your continuing education and training programs because it means
you have been reviewed and approved for complying with internationally
recognized standards.
Q:
Are the CEU courses offered by this program ASHA approved?
A:
Our CEU courses are ASHA approved or pending accreditation
Q:
What is the difference between ASHA CEUs and other CEUs?
A: ASHA Approved CE providers must meet stringent standards set
by ASHA's Continuing Education Board. Only activities offering
ASHA CEUs can be posted on your Registry transcript. There are
other types of CEUs and credits in the marketplace. However, ASHA
does not regulate other types of credit. Visit their website at
http://www.asha.org for more
information.
Q:
Why should I enroll in CEU courses?
A: You should enroll in CEU courses to stay up to date on the
latest issues and approaches for effectively working with clients.
Q:
Why should I take CEU courses through this program?
A: All of our CEU courses are offered online, therefore freeing
you from the rigid constraints of traditional course delivery
methods. Also, the costs are less than earning Continuing Education
Units at conferences that require expensive travel and hotel fees.
Q:
Are there any requirements for this program?
Go to the requirements
page to read the personal and technical requirements for participating
in a CEU available in this program.
Q:
When does my CEU class start?
A:
Our CEU courses are all offered on-demand, which means you can
enroll in a course and start using the tutorial at any time that
is convenient for you.
Q:
Where does my CEU class meet?
A: Each and every CEU tutorial we offer is delivered completely
online, so you don't ever have to meet at a specific time or place.
The tutorials are self-paced so you can work from the comfort
of your home computer in your own free time!
Q:
