BCBA How to Apply

Applying to the BCBA Program

Because BCBA participants earn graduate credit for their course work, the grades, course work and CSUN-certificate award will become a part of the participant's permanent academic record for graduate study at California State University, Northridge (CSUN).

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the cohort is filled.
Fall, 2010 Cohort April 30, 2010

 

Applicants must submit the following 5 items:

Online (1 item)

Both online application parts must be submitted no later than the application deadline date.

    1. Online application,including a 300-500-word statement describing why the applicant is interested in this BCBA® program and how enrollment in the program will contribute to the applicant's personal and/or professional growth and success.

By Email (1 item):

Resumes must be submitted no later than the application deadline date.

    2. Applicant's resumé

To submit documents by email, please send ONE email with the attached required document (.doc or .rtf format) to BCBAapplications@csun.edu. Specify only your name, as it appears on your online application, in the subject line of your email.

By Regular Mail (3 items)

All items sent by regular mail must be postmarked by the application deadline date.

    3. Original or certified copies of all official academic records/transcripts. (Including CSUN transcripts)

    4. Two letters of recommendation. (preferably from those who can comment on your clinical/behavioral work)

    5. Application fee of $55. (a nonrefundable check payable to "CSUN")

To be admitted to the BCBA Program, applicants must possess (at the time of enrollment)*:

A Master's degree in a related field from an accredited university

Related degrees include: Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, Educational Psychology and Counseling, Child and Family Studies, Marital Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Communication Disorders and Sciences, or an equivalent field.

  1. A graduate coursework grade point average of 3.0 except on approval by the BCBA® admission committee.
  2. Required English Language Skills for International Students
  3. TOEFL requirements: Computer Test (CBT) Paper Test (PBT) Internet Test (IBT)
    Score: 213 550 79
    Applicants may be admitted this IELTS score: 6

 



*Enrollment is limited; it is not possible to admit all of the qualified Applicants who apply

The BCBA program at CSUN is a post-master's university-certificate program. BCBA students will earn a CSUN certificate upon completion of the BCBA program, but will not be professionally certified BCBA's



 


Budget News:
All CSUN self-support programs (including master’s degrees, baccalaureate degree completion, credit certificate programs, and online degrees) offered through CSUN's Tseng College, will remain open for applications and admission for the Spring and Fall 2010 semesters. Winter session and Open University courses also will be available.
